Mayor's Series Events for 2010-11
Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap (September 10-11, 13, 16-18, 2010) In September, thrill to the suspense of Agatha Christie’s classic play The Mousetrap, a mainstay of the London theater world for over fifty years—the longest-running play in the world. This Covey Center production, directed by the extraordinary Barta Heiner, will feature professional actors, an amazing set, thrills and chills and the famous twist at the ending!
David Lanz (December 4, 2010) In December, world-famous solo pianist David Lanz—pioneer, legend, icon and ambassador of the New Age music movement—will present his Christmas concert, featuring seasonal favorites as well as his best-loved pieces like the melodic and haunting “Christofori’s Dream.” His concert sold out so quickly last year we decided to bring him back again!
Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company (February 5, 2011) In February, enjoy the incredible Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, fresh from their international tour. This Utah-based contemporary dance group performs to critical acclaim, both here and around the world: The Dance Insider proclaimed, “Judging from the involvement of the Paris audience - in a rare occurrence, they didn't wait until the end of the show but responded with rhythmic clapping even at the intermission curtain - French audiences want more of this.” The Covey Center is pleased to host this rare Utah County performance. Vocal Point (March 4, 2011) In March, join Vocal Point—BYU’s world-renowned a cappella group—for their 20th anniversary celebration. Named the 2006 International Collegiate A Capella Champions, Vocal Point propels a cappella music far beyond its traditional bounds. Chosen through an extensive audition process, the nine members of Vocal Point combine rich vocal talent with clever arrangements and staging in an electrifying concert program. Always a great crowd pleaser. You’ll love Vocal Point!
