The 3rd Annual “Bowls for Humanity” fundraiser, hosted by the Food & Care Coalition, will be held on Friday, March 6th at the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo. The event will showcase pottery from both student and professional talents and is part of the regularly scheduled Art Gallery Stroll held each month in downtown Provo. It also spotlights the social service efforts of the Food & Care Coalition. Handmade soup bowls from local potters will be available for purchase and can be filled with a selection of soups from both Marvellous Catering and The Coalition’s own “Chef Ken”. Pottery displayed will showcase local talent and featured artists and include a progress report on the Coalition’s new facility slated for completion this fall. Persons or groups who donate 5 or more bowls or items are eligible to have business cards available to the public. The showcase is an excellent way to have your pottery viewed by the public as the event runs parallel to the Downtown Gallery Stroll. Interested persons should contact Tammy Rodeback at 801.362.0315 or 801.375.0108. Awards for professional potters will include: Best of Show, Most Creative, and Staff Choice. Prizes for students will include: Most Creative, Staff Choice, and Honorable Mention. Each participating potter will also receive a complimentary meal at the event. A special thanks goes out to all potters who participated last year as we were able to meet our goal of 400 pieces. Our event continues to grow and we would like to thank all of you who make it possible. |
